Surprise proposal at Carré Saint-Louis in Montreal
Hap wrote to me from Toronto to say he was really excited to propose to his girlfriend during their weekend trip to Montreal. He wanted to hire a photographer to capture the big question. I was in!
Choosing Carré Saint-Louis for the rendez-vous
We went back and forth a little on potential locations and he finally decided to do the surprise proposal in Carré Saint-Louis, a friendly community park in the Plateau Mont-Royal with a Victorian fountain in the centre.
How this surprise proposal went down!
As he and Brittany approached the park, Hap texted to let me know they’d arrived. As they headed toward the fountain, I began to take pictures from a distance. Hap knelt down to “tie his shoe” and pulled out a ring. Surprise! After some celebrating, he pointed out his spy photographer hiding in the bushes and I came over and said hi. Brittany was so surprised that Hap had planned this whole proposal and even hired a photographer.
“Just engaged” portraits around the square
I took some candid photos of Hap and Brittany as they enjoyed some bubbly together as fresh “fiancés”. Then we headed out for some spontaneous engagement portraits in the neighbourhood. Aren’t they cute?
Congrats to this happy couple!
