Engagement photos in a backyard garden
For Kaysy and Brian’s engagement photoshoot, we met up at one of their favourite places: her aunt’s home in the Quebec countryside, about an hour’s drive from Montreal. For Kaysy, this spot holds so many good memories, including that one little time when Brian proposed!
They showed me the spot in the woods where Brian asked the question. There, we took some quiet portraits surrounded by greenery. What a special way to preserve the memory of their proposal!
A couple of gorgeous goofballs
Every couple is different and shows affection in different ways. As I discovered when shooting them, Kaysy and Brian are rarely serious! They are cute and silly with one another. And they poke fun at poses that are too romantic and cheesy. I loved their irreverent style and had a good time capturing their personalities.
We also took natural portraits throughout the gardens of this private home. We even braved the mosquitoes and the slippery rocks to take some adventure photos in a nearby creek. I can’t believe how gutsy Brian and Kaysy were! Walking barefoot in the cold creek water!
Adding some ultimate frisbee to their shoot
To add another personal touch to their engagement photo session, we took some candid action photos of Kaysy and Brian tossing a frisbee around. They are both athletes and enjoy playing in an ultimate frisbee league together. The portraits where they are dressed in fancier outfits are lovely. But these relaxed, playful ones show their more natural sides.
